April 20, 2013 “You must change your life to accommodate the lies that sustain the environmental movement and permit government agencies such as the EPA to strangle the economic life of the nation.” Monday, April 22, is Earth Day. Begun in 1970, it led to the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, along with the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. It is the global platform for the Big Lie that carbon dioxide (CO2) is causing the Earth to warm and the basis of the environmental movement’s ceaseless efforts to reduce the use of energy for any reason. Carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere has been increasing, but the Earth has been cooling due to reduced solar radiation.

Credit. Jean Reniteau/IPS PORT-AU-PRINCE, Mar 20 2013 (IPS) - Droughts and floods, devastating hurricanes and soil erosion with a drastic impact on food security make Haiti extremely vulnerable to climate change and in need of enormous adaptation efforts. The country launched a master plan for reforestation and land management in January to begin to tackle these vulnerabilities, Haitian Environment Minister Jean François Thomas explained to IPS. “Because of its morphogeological characteristics, our country is subject to abrupt changes that make it very fragile.

Nov. 1, 2012 (NaturalNews) The Northeast is slowly but surely crawling back to life after being body slammed by Hurricane Sandy, the largest storm to hit the U.S. in generations, though it's going to be weeks - and possibly months - before the region's power grid and transportation infrastructure returns to normal. As of midday Wednesday, more than 8.

Nov. 1, 2012 (NaturalNews) Well, it didn't take long after Hurricane Sandy passed into history as the largest storm of its kind in several generations for someone in Washington to call for billions in new federal spending to compensate for its damage - billions that will, of course, be added to the trillions of dollars in debt the nation already owes. Rep. Chaka Fatah, D-Pa., says he will introduce a bill to provide $12 billion in new funding to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to help it deal with Sandy's aftermath, so he says.

Oct. 11, 2012 We are proud to share some wonderful news from the Northern Rockies. A united effort by sportsmen, ranchers, wilderness lovers and local residents has secured long-term protection for one of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem’s most precious gems – the Hoback Basin. The victory ends a concerted effort by a major gas driller to open the Basin to natural gas drilling and hydraulic fracturing (fracking), a process that would foul air and water and destroy sensitive wildlife habitat. At a public event on Oct.

Sept. 5, 2012 Ouroboros would seem to be an apt symbol for the self-destructive nature of the human species. samsara: n. Hinduism & Buddhism The eternal cycle of birth, suffering, death and rebirth. Why Do We Keep Falling? What’s to be done about the impending collapse of civilization as we have known it? What sort of plans and preparations should we be making? Shall we prepare for a revolutionary war, streets red with blood, father against son, brother against sister? Is there any way to stop the impending fall of the empire? Do we even want to? Is there any chance that something better will rise from the ruins once the apocalypse has wrought its devastation? It would seem that much of the evidence to be taken from our brief history would lead to the conclusion that the human species is simply doomed to repeat the same, self-destructive cycle until it joins all the other failed evolutionary experiments in extinction.

Acre by acre America’s wilderness, the wild soul of our nation, is disappearing before our very eyes. We have 10 years to complete an undertaking that will define us for generations to come. It’s our mosaic of parks, refuges and national forests protected in their unspoiled splendor for all time. We will be remembered for what we saved and protected, not for the roads we built … or the holes we dug … or the shopping malls we erected. Stand up for America’s wild future with a generous donation to The Wilderness Society.

July 9, 2012 Agenda 21 wants to, among other things, bring the American lands back to rewilding. The non-governmental organization (NGO) The Wildlands Project (WP) is a focusing of the American landscape in preservation for “future generations to inherit a continent rich in wildlife, with plenty of room for all species to roam.” This does not necessarily mean that there will be room for humans as we are seeing massive areas of land being placed under restrictions called “conservation easements”, “scenic byways”, “protected areas”, “biosphere reserves”, “wildlife refuges”, etc. The names are varied and plentiful, but the result is always the same: More government control; less human freedom. The WP claims we are “experiencing the Sixth Great Extinction” because of “human population growth, climate change, resource extraction, new recreational technologies, habitat fragmentation”.

June 23, 2012 Lord Christopher Monckton, chief policy advisor to the Science and Public Policy Institute and former science advisor to Margaret Thatcher, tells The New American from Rio that the just-concluded Rio+20 conference was not about saving the planet or eradicating poverty, but about shackling the plant under global government. He also optimistically stresses that the "pointy heads here in Rio" have failed despite their declaration of success and that "the game is up." Video produced by http://www.libertynewsnetwork.tv VIEW VIDEO http://www.

In a 3-0 vote, the California Fish and Game Commission (Commission) today approved and adopted regulations for the north coast MPAs, completing the network of MPAs in California's open coastal waters, from Mexico to the Oregon state line. The network of MPAs is the first in the United States to be designed from the ground up as a science-based network, rather than a patchwork of independent protected areas without specific goals and objectives. "This is a great day for California's ocean and coastal resources," said Secretary for Natural Resources John Laird.

UNITED NATIONS, May 31, 2012 (IPS) - Canada, in a dramatic political turnaround, has signaled its willingness to recognise water and sanitation as a basic human right. As negotiations continue over the Rio+20 plan of action on sustainable development to be adopted in Brazil next month, Canada became one of the last Western nations to drop its opposition to a reference to water as a human right in the document titled "The Future We Want." Maude Barlow, national chairperson of the Council of Canadians, one of Canada's largest social justice advocacy organisations, said it took "unprecedented pressure" to get the government in Ottawa to change its position. "The shift is a good thing, but words are not enough. We need actions, and the government's actions directly contradict respect for the human right to water," said Barlowe, a former U.

May 9, 2012 Author warns Obama agenda to deliberately seal off assets The author of “Eco-Tyranny: How the Left’s Green Agenda will Dismantle America” warns that the federal government has been collecting properties across the country for years, even now is working to control more and ultimately wants to block off any use by the American people. In a commentary published in Forbes, author Brian Sussman argues that every American is heir to an “unfathomable fortune” in natural resources on nationally owned land but is condemned to bankruptcy by a government that won’t let them use it. Sussman says it’s the deliberate policy of a government “beholden to the green agenda.” He reports that “the feds now own nearly 700 million acres of property” that contain huge amounts of natural resources the country could use in difficult economic times, including oil, natural gas, minerals, timber and water. Instead, the federal government has permanently removed these lands from economic development, deliberately harming the interests of the country to please environmentalists.

April 19, 2012 The environmentalist movement isn’t about protecting the environment at all, according to meteorologist-turned-journalist Brian Sussman. It’s about destroying private property, controlling behavior, and expanding government – and the Obama administration has a secret plan to further all of it, he says. Sussman is now blowing the whistle on the real nature of environmentalism in his explosive brand-new book, “Eco-Tyranny.” He reveals secret memos from inside Obama’s Bureau of Land Management, or BLM, outlining a covert plan “to pursue a program of land consolidation” for the federal government to secure tens of millions of acres of land that will be permanently out of reach for entrepreneurs, businessmen and private citizens. The plan, entitled “Our Vision, Our Values,” notes that 130-140 million acres under BLM management are worthy of consideration as “treasured lands.

Daniel and Jessica Brown have been living in the house concealed behind trees near the village of Westcott, Surrey, since 2007. The couple did not seek planning permission to build on the the site, which lies within the green belt and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, protected by strict development restrictions. And they failed to register for council tax, were not on the electoral roll and even those living in the nearest homes to the site did not know they were there. But becasue they did not actively conceal the home from the authorities, the council is unable to take any action to evict them.

Feb. 26, 2012 Nearly six years have passed since Hurricane Katrina drowned New Orleans in misery, but many residents haven’t forgiven the Federal Emergency Management Agency for its sluggish response to the storm. Now another delayed reaction by FEMA – a stop-and-start push to recoup millions of dollars in disaster aid – is reminding storm victims why they often cursed the agency’s name. As a new hurricane season begins Wednesday, FEMA is working to determine how much money it overpaid or mistakenly awarded to victims of the destructive 2005 hurricane season. The agency is reviewing more than $600 million given to roughly 154,000 victims of hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma and is poised to demand that some return money.

By now we all know how important it is for our precious planet that we recycle and choose the materials we use in our daily lives wisely. Reusing things that we might have previously considered trash is also a great way to give a new life and purpose to materials that might otherwise end up in a landfill somewhere. We see artists use trash to create beautiful artwork all the time. However, what about running our homes? Do you know how to run an eco-friendly home? I thought I knew, until I read this chart by Wickes. For example, I had no idea that not leaving my phone on the charger all night long would make a difference.

They live in structures that are made using natural building methods like straw bale, making use of reclaimed materials. There are solar panels, rain catchment systems, compost and organic gardens where they grow most of their own food. They also teach these skills and even have an "Eco B&B" on the premises so people can stay in comfort and get a sense of living there.
Japan's economy shrank 0.9 percent in the first quarter but recovery is expected between July and September Just three months ago Japan was plunged into chaos after a cataclysmic earthquake sent a merciless tsunami crashing through towns and cities up and down the east coast. The unforgiving tide of water obliterated tens of thousands of buildings, devouring almost anything in its path. Thousands of people died and hundreds of bodies have never been recovered. The heart-breaking images of families desperately searching for loved ones amid the rubble of their homes sent shockwaves around the world.

UN resolution looks to give 'Mother Earth' same rights as humans

UNITED NATIONS — Bolivia will this month table a draft United Nations treaty giving “Mother Earth” the same rights as humans — having just passed a domestic law that does the same for bugs, trees and all other natural things in the South American country. The bid aims to have the UN recognize the Earth as a living entity that humans have sought to “dominate and exploit” — to the point that the “wellbeing and existence of many beings” is now threatened. The wording may yet evolve, but the general structure is meant to mirror Bolivia’s Law of the Rights of Mother Earth, which Bolivian President Evo Morales enacted in January. That document speaks of the country’s natural resources as “blessings,” and grants the Earth a series of specific rights that include rights to life, water and clean air; the right to repair livelihoods affected by human activities, and the right to be free from pollution. It also establishes a Ministry of Mother Earth, and provides the planet with an ombudsman whose job is to hear nature’s complaints as voiced by activist and other groups, including the state.

Kucinich Proposes Landmark Reform of Monetary Policy

As the nation struggles with long-term unemployment at rates not seen in generations, contracted credit and the hoarding of public dollars by the banks, Congressman Kucinich (D-OH) last week introduced a dramatic new proposal to establish fiscal integrity, reassert Congressional sovereignty and regain control of monetary policy from private banks. The National Emergency Employment Defense Act of 2010 would allow the federal government to directly fund badly-needed infrastructure repairs and fund education systems nationwide by spending money into circulation without increasing the national debt. The bill would end the current practice of fractional reserve lending, whereby the economy depends upon private financial institutions to lend money into circulation. Congressman Kucinich stated, "The staggeringly bad employment and economic numbers represent a massive problem which cries out for bold action. Rather than crossing our fingers and hoping that banks will finally lend some of the billions of public dollars they haven't thus far seen fit to lend, we can take action.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it will regulate dental mercury! The move is a blow to the pro-mercury American Dental Association (ADA), which had lobbied for a “voluntary” approach to preventing dental mercury pollution – the ADA’s way of doing nothing to stop pro-amalgam dentists from dumping their mercury into our environment. Mercury released by amalgam-using dentists pollutes our water, our air, and our land, resulting in devastating environmental health effects. As the EPA explains, once dental mercury enters the environment, “certain microorganisms can change elemental mercury into methylmercury, a highly toxic form that builds up in fish, shellfish and animals that eat fish.

I am not a professional writer but this needs to be said so here I go. I just watched a piece on the telly this morning about helicopter logging on Vancouver Island, the continent unto itself off the wild west coast of Canada. One comment stuck in my mind that sent my imagination off on many tangents at once. It was that the logging company owns the land that they were stripping of timber, mostly old growth cedar, hemlock and fir. I was taken aback by this comment and wondered how it was that what we consider Public Land could be owned by logging companys to do with as they please.

Scientists discovered the new microbe while studying the underwater dispersion of millions of gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf following the explosion of BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig. Microbes degrade oil, indicated In this undated image provide by the journal Science, microbes degrade oil, indicated by the circle of dashes, in the deepwater plume from the BP oil spill in the Gulf, as documented in a study by Berkeley Lab researchers. The newly discovered type of oil-eating microbe, which is suddenly flourishing in the Gulf of Mexico, was discovered by scientists studying the underwater dispersion of millions of gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf following the explosion of BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig. And the microbe works without significantly depleting oxygen in the water, researchers led by Terry Hazen at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory reported Tuesday in the online journal Science Express.
