A Up-Close Photo Of The Brooklyn Bridge On Fire -
Last night the Brooklyn Bridge caught on fire when a car driving on the Manhattan bound lane caught on fire.
I just happened to be on my bike riding across the bridge and took a couple of photos, which I have included here.
There were dozens of tourists and gawkers looking at the fire. Some people climbed on the bridge's guard rail (myself included) to look down to see what was happening. I didn't get a photo, but the car was just blown out and smoldering.
Cops and fire fighters yelled at me to get down.
The bridge has metal lining protecting it right now. Behind that metal seems to be some sheet of plastic, or fabric, and it appears that's what caught on fire and crept up to the walking/biking path.
Traffic was a mess on the bridge, with people just standing outside of their cars trying to figure out what was happening.
According to reports no one was hurt.
