Bake Sales outlawed; Bowl-a-thons for abortion (World Gone Mad)
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation - Grassfire Nation Update
If you haven't heard, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is outlawing bake sales. As Grassfire's Liberty News is reporting:
We often see stories where a nanny-state government body reaches into the decision realm that should be commanded by parents and parents alone. Today we see it in a glaringly frightening light, in the form of a 24/7 ban on “competitive” food products.
And while bake sales are now legally impermissible, bowl-a-thons for abortions are apparently all the rave. The National Network of Abortion Funds held a bowl-a-thon and then celebrated the fact that their fundraiser helped a 14-year-old get an abortion. Quoting the child: “Getting my abortion means I’m going to get a second chance. And I want to make it count.” Go here for the rest of the story.
If you're wondering what's happening, our Al Knepper puts it all in perspective with two posts that explain that this is the very goal of the socialist "Nanny State."
First, in "Why The Nanny State Targets Your Children," Knepper says we shouldn't be looking for some grand plot by the leftists. "It’s no conspiracy to enslave us: it’s just the logic of paternalism. If we surrender liberty or no longer see it as a paramount virtue, then the entire American system becomes undone."
Knepper then dissects a very disturbing Obama campaign piece called "The Life Of Julia" that shows with great pride how Obama will care for Julia literally from cradle to grave.
By the way, I'd put our Liberty News team alongside any set of pro-liberty news bloggers in the country. For your daily digest of news that matters to the movement, make LibertyNews.com the first place you visit on the web.
Thanks for the stand you are taking to preserve liberty and limited government.
